Business Cards

The first design she created for me was very dark, very bold and it didn’t really appeal to me. I couldn’t imagine how it would look as a separate logo and on a website it would have looked really boring and block colour which I don’t like. We met up again and I discussed the issues I had with it, she was happy to re design and reassured me that because it is such a personal thing it would take a little while for me to be happy with it.

The second design she started to become really creative with which I loved however I again had some issues with it. I began to realise I did not like the black and found it too dark and too harsh for what I was looking for. I really liked the flower khaki pattern but for me the design was wrong and I wanted something much simpler and minimalistic. I sketched out what I thought might work. She was reluctant because of the way she works was worried it would be too plain however for me I was looking for something simple but with a colour twist to it.

The third design we constructed together, we sat played with fonts played with orientation and general design aspects, with social icons and with size until I became really comfortable with the appearance of the business cards. I liked the more relaxed logo on the front that was much swirlier compared to what she had previously designed. It reflected my personally much more. I could also see myself using the logo on my websites and cv because it was simple and just what I wanted.

For the interview I had ordered business cards already, when they arrived they were not what I was expecting and were very flimsy and thin. I recently re ordered with VistaPrint and ordered them in luxury thick card and with a gloss finish. They were more expensive however they feel so much better to the touch and much more professional.
