Body Painting Inspired Makeup

I began by applying basic makeup over the face applying Bobbi Brown shimmer as highlighter to give the appearance of fresh dewy skin I used Mac Studio Fix foundation to do this applied with a dual fibre brush. I applied Mac liquid concealer to the problem areas.

I wanted to create this look since one of my project ideas is to look into industrialisation, technology and robots. The mechanical metal look is representitive of those subjects, I attempted to create a fashion look using body painting inspired by mechanics and robots. The silver shimmer above applied on the eyelids is a silver aqua colour.

The silver on the black did not quite achieve the colour strength I was looking for, the silver was quite translucent and didnt have the shimmer of the silver. In hindsight i should have perhaps used silver supra color over the top or instead of the aqua colour because the shimmer is more intense.

It was helpful to experiment this look with simple bodypainting as I intend to progress this idea using prosthetics. With the prosthetics the mechanical element will be 3D and the detail involved will be more intricate, It is difficult to create detail with aqua colour.

I began to run out of time when doing this look so I ended up rushing the shoulders and neck which ideally should have had the most time. However this was only an initial idea and I was experimenting with looks that I could progress later. The last step was spraying the hair with gel to create a wet look.

I contoured the face with the Make-Up International foundation palette then applied a rose blush to the cheeks from the Make-Up International brush palette. I used black eyeshadow from the makeup international palette on the outer corners of the eye sockets to enhnace the shape and also elongate the eye, I used a piece of tissue to create the angled edge

I used silver Kryolan supra color on the lips to add a metallic effect. I began to apply black aqua colour in a block around the neck with a large flat brush. The colour was built up with a couple of layers. I next applied the silver aqua colour to the centre of the block using my brush to diffuse the colour into the black at the edges. The silver applied only in the centre can give the impression of a 3D metal neck piece.
