Avant Garde Hair

The video above is a clip from a TV show 'Hair' shown on the bbc. The program follows young hairdressers in a hair competition, they compete with eachother through various rounds including freestyle rounds where they have free reign on what they create with hair. Since I am looking to create something quite fantasy this is beneficial.

Fantasy Hair Examples

There is a very fine line between what is a hair frame and what is a hair hat, some of the images above definitely cross that line and show none or little incorporation of natural hair into an artificial hair frame. This is what I must be careful of when designing the hair frame because it must have the natural hair incorporated or it is not a hair frame it is a hat. There are some beautifully designed hair 'hats' however it does not fit the context.
