Location

The Vineyard, Hambledon

Finding a location was difficult, not a lot of places were willing to open up their doors to a team of people with cameras and lighting equiptment. I was initially looking for an inside space however I managed to contact a family friend who worked in the office of Hambledon vineyard and proceeded to contact the owners about the possibility of shooting there. The gardens, outside space and out buildings were so amazing it seemed appropriate to shoot outside. This is weather depending but I am confident we can make it work.

Getting hold of images was near impossible, I live close to the house and hambledon is frequently burgled because of the valuable houses therefore imagery of the house and surrounding areas is hard to find so I visited the house myself before the shoot.

The vineyard has been developed in recent years to make extremely successful champagne.

Ian Kellett bought Hambledon Vineyard in 1999 and is one of the second wave of contemporary English wine pioneers. His self-appointed task, now that the early adopters have proved that the Brits can create serious wine, is to make Hambledon a top 10 British brand that gives this country recognition around the world for the quality of its sparkling wine. After training as a bio-chemist, Kellett became a City analyst and managing director at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, where he led the equity research team in the global food and drink market, before getting into wine. The first Hambledon-branded sparkling wine was launched in 2014 to critical acclaim, and has already embarrassed some well-known champagne brands in blind tastings.
