Costume Moodboards
For the diamond look I was hoping to achieve some sort of flapper/burlesque style dress or outfit. The mood board I created is shown to the left, my favourite is the second image in and is purchaseable however it takes such a long processing and making time I was unable to buy it for the shoot.
This look is self explanitary, for the champagne look I was going for a gold fun dress that would go with the makeup and the white wig.
Final Costumes
For the diamond look I managed to get hold of this sequin silver flapper dress. It was great and moved freely and was very sparkly which was what I was looking for. The shoes to go with it were diamante on the heels and were also very sparkly.
The dress I bought from asos for £50, I wanted it to be really fun and with a poofy underskirt. I did not think it would be very big so I ordered a net underskirt to sit beneath it however when it arrived it already had one and was just what I wanted.
The necklace is from debenhams and I wanted to use this necklace because the pearls looked like bubbles which fitted to the champagne context. The shoes are from boohoo and added the finishing touch.
This dress I stumbled across on ebay and just found it perfect for the look and the train on the back I knew would look great in a shot. The dress was claiming to be a size 12 however it was definitely more of an 8 but that was great as my model was 6/8 in size.
The dress was expensive but worth the money, I cannot return it because it was bought from ebay from a small seller however I would not want to sell it anyway as I think for the money it was a steal.
When I first made this moodboard I was planning to base the colour theme around pink therefore the moodboard reflects that for the roses look. However the style and type of dresses in the moodboard are still what I am looking for just in a red colour instead.
Unfortunately I could not find a fashion stylist for the looks as no one was available however I did get advice from a fashion stylist I have worked with before in London and she gave her input on what would look best for the shots which was helpful but I already had a clear idea of what I wanted anyway so it was not a huge issue.
