Major Project
Final Looks
I had prepared for a while to take time lapse videos of each application on the day. I had bought the equipment, tripod etc. had bought new space for my device to film it all. Then on the day there was an issue with storage even though there shouldn’t have been and not only did I lose all but one short clip of the time lapses (shown at the bottom of the page) I lost all the pictures I took on the day. So I have done my best to collect images off other people’s phones and used some of the unedited head shots taken on the day to explain my processes.
-
I began by focusing on the eyes before the base so that I could clean up any fallout from the eyeshadow with ease instead of having to clean up any mess on the foundation once its applied.
-
I applied a thin layer of pros aid over the brow hairs with a cotton bud, I applied it with a cotton bud as it soaks up the excess and only applies the amount needed. It also helps it to dry quicker.
-
Once the pros aid was tacky I rolled my hand over it to push down the hairs and allow them to stick to the face. This is done so the texture of the brows disappears and it leaves a flat space.
-
I next rolled a small amount of Ben Nye wax in my fingers to warm it up before pushing down onto the eyebrows from the bottom upwards. I also used a spatula to smooth this out.
-
Next I used the Kryolan concealer palette in D32 and D1 to conceal the colour of the brows whilst powdering in between colours to prevent colour mixing.
-
Once the brows had been covered I applied bare minerals eyelid primer to the whole eyelid and up onto the brows. This created a creamy base veil over what I just did.
-
I applied a base of pinky white Morphe eyeshadow from the palette as a base eyeshadow. I next used a crease blending brush to layer up the red eyeshadow in the inner and outer corners of the eyes diffusing outwards and upwards.
-
In the middle of the lid and middle of the bottom lash line I applied naked cosmetics red copper colour mixed with water so the colour was more pigmented. This gave a dewy metallic shine on the lid.
-
I next applied Mac prep and prime skin visage primer to the face as a base for the foundation. I used shade NC15 mixed with a drop of Mac face and body foundation in white as the foundation base as my model was quite pale. I applied this with a dual fibre foundation brush to effortlessly create the base.
-
With a flat rectangle contour brush I began applying a cream brown foundation contour product under the cheekbones, on the temples, down the nose and under the chin. I then blended that in with a beauty blender.
-
Next to sharpen up the contour and apply the highlight I used Mac prep and prime concealer in light boost under the eyes, down the nose, under the contour line on the cheekbones, on the chin and on the middle of the forehead. I again blended this with a beauty blender.
-
I like to apply the blusher shimmer highlighter before setting with translucent powder because I find it does not look too cakey and it applies much more pigmented and nicer so once I highlight and contour I applied some bright red blusher to the apples of the cheeks from the makeup international blush palette. The red made Emily look quite pale but it was good because the red and pale skin looked fierce.
-
I next baked under the eyes and under the cheekbones with ben nye neutral set powder which sharpened up the contour and set the product under the eyes. I then dusted away the excess powder and set the face with Mac prep and prime fix+ setting spray.
-
I applied the individual lashes with tweezers and duo adhesive. They went on very quickly and effortlessly before I gave them one coat of mascara.
-
For the lips I lined the lips with Kryolan lip pencil in bright red to prevent any bleeding, then I applied Kryolan red lipstick in shade LC0 59.
-
I had already wrapped the hair securely and applied a nude wig cap over the top of the hair and pinned it into place before attaching the wig.
-
I cut the lace on the wig to the correct length and applied pros aid with a cotton bud under the lace and pressed the lace down onto the face in the correct position. Once dried I powdered with translucent powder. I then individually attached all 10 roses onto the wig in a halo shape. The roses withheld their shape all day which was great and they were easily secured.
-
Once all the previous make-up was stripped and wig was removed I again began by blocking out the brows in the same way as before and once the brows had been covered I applied bare minerals eyelid primer as before to the whole eyelid and up onto the brows. Instead of covering the primer with a base eyeshadow I left it as it was because it gave a really nice subtle gold iridescent shine which worked great for this look.
-
The next thing I did was mix the naked cosmetics champagne colour metallic pigment with water on the brush and applied it all over the lid and under the lid, I diffused this quite far up reaching the eyebrows and it gave a nice shimmery effect.
-
I then left the rest of the eye look until after I had finished the base, I applied Mac prep and prime skin visage primer to the face as a base for the foundation.
-
I used shade NC15 alone this time instead of with the face and body because it was quite a warm skin look. I applied this with a dual fibre foundation brush as before.
-
I did the following steps in the exact same way as before with a flat rectangle contour brush I began applying a cream brown foundation contour product under the cheekbones, on the temples, down the nose and under the chin. I then blended that in with a beauty blender.
-
To sharpen up the contour and apply the highlight I used Mac prep and prime concealer in light boost under the eyes, down the nose, under the contour line on the cheekbones, on the chin and on the middle of the forehead. I again blended this with a beauty blender. Instead this time I applied no blusher but added bronzer over the areas I had contoured with a real techniques contour brush and blended it out to warm up the base and deepen the contour.
-
I applied revolution gold flake powder highlighter right along the top of the cheekbones, down the nose, on the cupids bow and on the inner corners of the eyes. I then intensified this by using the naked cosmetics gold eyeshadow as before on top of the highlight to create an intense strobe effect.
-
I next baked under the eye and under the cheekbones as before with ben nye neutral set powder which sharpened up the contour and set the product under the eyes. I then dusted away the excess powder and set the face with Mac prep and prime fix+ setting spray.
-
With the lit cosmetics glitter in champagne wishes I created a tear effect under the eye in a downwards triangle shape. This just opens up the eyes and adds another dimension to the look.
-
I pre coated the eyelashes with mascara and applied a few layers before application in order to intensify the black colour and the thickness of them, I then applied them with duo adhesive and tweezers.
-
On the lips I applied a few layers of the naked cosmetics gold colour again with a small brush to complete the look.
-
I had already prepped the hair and added a wig cap so it was time apply the white wig. I fitted it into place and arranged the parting how I wanted it. I then cut the lace in a wavy line across the forehead in order to make the lace less noticeable than if it was in a straight line. I glued the lace with prosaid and once dry sealed with foundation and translucent powder. I then trimmed the ends and kept most of the length in the hair because I was satisfied with the look of it.
-
This time I began by prepping the eyes with the bare minerals eye primer, I applied this all over the lid and covered with a neutral colour eyeshadow as the base. With a blending brush I then applied black eyeshadow on the outer and inner corners of the eyes from the Morphe browns and blacks eyeshadow palette in order to make the centre areas of the eyes pop.
-
I then applied silver naked cosmetics pigment over the centre lid and on top applied the sparkle Barry M glitter dust. I applied Mac prep and prime skin visage primer to the face as a base for the foundation. I used shade NC15 alone this time instead of with the face and body because it was quite a warm skin look. I applied this with a dual fibre foundation brush as before.

I applied revolution gold flake powder highlighter right along the top of the cheekbones, down the nose, on the cupids bow and on the inner corners of the eyes it became a nice silvery white highlight.
-
I next began re drawing the brows with a pointed brow brush and using Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in shade Chocolate. I applied an ombre effect by applying minimal product near the centre of the brows and gradually applied more product towards the outer ends. On top of this I applied the barry M sparkle dust to the outer sides of the brow.
-
I next applied the gems under the eyes with tweezers and duo adhesive. I then proceeded to glue pre coated individual eyelashes onto the models own lashes like before.
-
For the lips I applied the Kryolan Kohl pencil thickly as a liner then continued to fill the colour in. I next brushed and straightened the models hair as it became kinked whilst under the previous wigs with GHD stylers. With a denman brush I styled all the hair upwards and using strong hold hairspray I wrapped the ponytail of hair around into a top knot style. The finishing step was applying the silver spray from the forehead diffusing into the hair and highlighting the shapes.
