Drag King Makeup
To instantly shape the face into a manlier one changing the hairline shape can be a great way to start. I have a heart shaped hairline that is tyically quite womanly. Having dark hair it was easy to go in with Kryolan black greasepaint too redraw the shape. Already it made a huge difference.
First a thin layer of CU/1 foundation colour from the Makeup International palette is applied with a foundation brush to balance the skin texture and colour.
The picture above is before any make-up has been applied, the face is cleansed. The point of drag king makeup is to recreate a realistic male face by changing the bone structure and shape.
Thee only thing I am slightly dissapointed with is the stubble. I do feel like the shape required more detail and the colour does appear quite smudged.
Using a stipple sponge Kryolan greasepaint brown 101 to the area surrounding the mouth, chin and cheeks to recreate stubble. The same colour was also applied with a small brush onto the eyebrows to thicken the shape and create a bushy and full effect.
Using foundation colour CU/9 from the makeup international palette to create shadow that alters the face shape. I started by applying this colour down the sides of the nose to broaden the nose and create the illusion that it is wider than it is. The colour was applied along the chin in attempt to create a more square jaw. Shadow was also applied over the forehead and around the eyes to create a sunken appearance.
Other than the stubble I do thik the transformation into drag king was successful. In particular the hairline has changed the whole image and made the makeup more realistic. The added use of costume also helps to bring the loook together.
